1. Reduce the usage of plastic and polythene carry bags. We can use bags made of jute, clothes or newspaper.
2. Reduce the wastage of electricity by turning of devices that are not in use.
3. Avoid wastage of water by mending leaking taps and turning of water taps when not in use.
4. Using recyclable items.
5. Disposing off waste products properly with care.
6. Reducing the wastage of paper and other products made from cutting trees.

2. What would be the advantages of exploiting resources with short-term aims?

Answer:

Exploiting resources with short-term aims can help boost the productivity and economy for the present generation. However, such methods in long term are not sustainable and prove to be fatal as resources are limited in nature and once exhausted, nothing will be left for the use of future generations.

3. How would these advantages differ from the advantages of using a long-term perspective in managing our resources?

Answer:

In case of using a long-term perspective in managing resources, the resources will be consumed in a sustainable manner. They will not only help us grow now but also be sufficiently left for the use of future generations.

4. Why do you think that there should be equitable distribution of resources? What forces would be working against an equitable distribution of our resources?

Answer:

Equitable distribution of resources is necessary so that every organism gets its share of resources to meet the basic needs of its life-like water, food, and shelter.

The forces working against an equitable distribution of our resources are uneven distribution of resources geographically, the greed of certain humans, and the socio-economic gap between the rich and the poor.
