1. The shape of the top surface of a table is a trapezium. Find its area if its parallel sides are 1 m and 1.2 m and perpendicular distance between them is 0.8 m.

Sol.: – Area of table = x h(a+b)
Where, h = distance between two parallel sides = 0.8 m
a = One of the parallel sides of the trapezium = 1 m
b = other parallel sides of the trapezium = 1.2 m

Area of table = x 0.8 x (1 + 1.2)
= 0.88 m²
