### NCERT Solutions For Class 10 Maths Chapter 4 Exercise 4.3 – Quadratic Equations

**NCERT Solutions For Class 10 Maths Chapter 4 Exercise 4.3 – Quadratic Equations**

**1. Find the roots of the following quadratic equations, if they exist, by the method of completing the square: **

**(i) 2x ^{2} – 7x + 3 = 0 **

** Solution:** The quadratic equation is

2x^{2} – 7x + 3 = 0

On Dividing both side by 2,

x^{2 }– x + = 0

x^{2 }– 2..x + ^{ }– ^{ }+ =0

– + =0

=

= ±

Taking the positive value,

x – =

⇒ x = + = = 3

And taking the negative value,

x – = –

⇒ x = – = =

Hence the roots are x = 3,
