1. Answer the following questions.

(i) Why are resources distributed unequally over the earth?

Answer – The resources are unequally distributed over the earth due to their natural or man made occurrence. Not all places have the same soil, climate or vegetation that could help produce a certain resource. Man-made resources are derived from man’s capability to use them and build them. The knowledge and the ability of each person differs. Thus the resources are distributed unevenly all over the earth.

(ii) What is resource conservation?

Answer – Resource conservation is a way to save the resources from getting depleted all at once. It is the judgemental use of all the resources.

(iii) Why are human resources important?

Answer – Human resource is inculcated from the knowledge and skills of people and how well they use nature to harness the resource. The more the human resource, the better can make make use of nature. Thus, human resources are important.

(iv) What is sustainable development?

Answer – Sustainable development is a practice where you use resources in a judgemental and wise way, so that the future generations can also use the resources. This helps protect the nature and not allow the depletion of resources rapidly.
