Answer: The Northern plains are the most fertile area of the entire country with a suitable climate and plain land. Thus, a large number of people live in the Northern plains.
(g) Why is Lakshadweep known as a coral island?
Answer: Lakshadweep Islands in the Arabian Sea have been formed from corals, which are nothing but skeletons of tiny marine animals called Polyps. Hence, Lakshadweep Islands are known as coral islands.
