Question – Write first five multiples of (a) 5 (b) 8 (c) 9
Solution –
(a) To obtain first five multiples of 5, we will multiply 5 by 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5
5 × 1 = 5
5 × 2 = 10
5 × 3 = 15
5 × 4 = 20
5 × 5 = 25
Hence, first five multiples of 5 are 5, 10, 15, 20 and 25.
(b) To obtain first five multiples of 8, we will multiply 8 by 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5
8 × 1 = 8
8 × 2 = 16
8 × 3 = 24
8 × 4 = 32
8 × 5 = 40
Hence, first five multiples of 8 are 8, 16, 24, 32 and 40.
(c) To obtain first five multiples of 9, we will multiply 9 by 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5
9 × 1 = 9
9 × 2 = 18
9 × 3 = 27
9 × 4 = 36
9 × 5 = 45
Hence, first five multiples of 9 are 9, 18, 27, 36 and 45.
