What are Consecutive Numbers – Example of Consecutive numbers

What are Consecutive Numbers ?

What are Consecutive Numbers ?  This question often comes to the mind of Maths students in early classes.  Consecutive numbers are numbers,  that follow each other , in the order of smallest to largest.

In other words, we can say that consecutive number of any given number is obtained by adding 1 to that number.

Consecutive numbers – Example 1

Write the three consecutive numbers occurring just after 25367.

Explanation : –

The next three consecutive number of 25367 can be obtained by adding 1, 2 and 3 to 25367
that is,
25367 + 1 = 25368
25367 + 2 = 25369
25367 + 3 = 25370

Hence the three consecutive number occurring just after 25367 are 25368, 25369 and 25370 respectively.

Consecutive numbers – Example 2

Write the four consecutive numbers occurring just after 38809.

Explanation:-

The next four consecutive numbers of 38809 can be obtained by adding 1, 2, 3 and 4 to 38809
that is,
38809 + 1 = 38810
38809 + 2 = 38811
38809 + 3 = 38812
38809 + 4 = 38813
Hence the four consecutive number occurring just after 38809 are 38810 , 38811 , 38812 and 38813 respectively.
