Lines and Angles Class 7 MCQ Questions

1.If one of the two Complementary Angles is 63˚ , what is the measure of the other Angle ?

(a) 24˚

(b) 33˚

(c) 27˚

(d) 22˚

Answer

Answer: (c) 27˚

Explanation: Two Angles are said to be Complementary Angles, if the sum of their measure is 90˚.

Measure of one Angle = 63 ˚

Let the Measure of the Second Angle be =x ˚

Sum of Complementary Angles =90 ˚

In other words, 63˚ + x˚ = 90˚

x˚ = 90˚ – 63˚

x˚ = 27˚

Hence, the measure of the other Angle is = 27˚.

2.If two Angles are Supplementary, and one of the Angles is 130˚ , what is the measure of the other Angle?

(a) 50˚

(b) 47˚

(c) 56˚

(d) 45˚

Answer

Answer: (a) 50˚

Explanation: If two Angles are Supplementary, then their sum of measure is 180˚

Measure of one Angle = 130˚

Let the Measure of the Second Angle be = x˚

Sum of Supplementary Angles = 180˚

In other words, 130˚ + x˚ = 180˚

x˚ = 180˚ – 130˚

x˚ = 50˚

Hence, the measure of the other Angle is = 50˚.

3.The difference in the measure of two Complementary Angles is 8˚ . Find the measure of Angles.

(a) 49˚ and 41˚

(b) 44˚ and 46˚

(c) 56˚ and 34˚

Answer

Answer: (a) 49˚ and 41˚

Explanation: Two Angles are said to be Complementary Angles, if the sum of their measure is 90˚.

Let the measure of one Complementary Angle = ( x )˚

Then, the measure of other Angle = ( x – 8 )˚

Sum of Complementary Angles = 90˚

x˚ + x˚ – 8˚ = 90˚

2x˚ = 90˚ + 8˚

2x˚ = 98˚

x˚ = 98˚/2

x˚ = 49˚

Hence, the measure of one Angle = ( x )˚ = 49˚

The measure of other Angle = ( x – 8 )˚ = ( 49 – 8)˚ = 41˚

Lines and Angles Class 7 MCQ Questions

4.The difference of the measure of two supplementary Angles is 72˚ . Find the measure of Angles.

(a) 126˚ and 54˚

(b) 121˚ and 59˚

(c) 133˚ and 47˚

Answer

Answer: (a) 126˚ and 54˚

Explanation: If two Angles are supplementary, then their sum of measure is 180˚

Let the measure of one Angle = ( x )˚

Then, the measure of other Angle = ( x – 72 )˚

Sum of Supplementary Angles = 180˚

x˚ + x˚ – 72˚ = 180˚

2x˚ = 180˚ + 72˚

2x˚ = 252˚

x˚ = 252˚/2

x˚ = 126˚

Hence, the measure of one Angle = ( x )˚ = 126˚

and other Angle = ( x – 72 )˚ = ( 126 – 72)˚ = 54˚

5.Two supplementary Angles are in the ratio of 7 : 11   , find the Angles?

(a) 70˚ and 110˚

(b) 75˚ and 105˚

(c) 66˚ and 114˚

Answer

Answer: (a) 70˚ and 110˚

Explanation: If two Angles are Supplementary, then their sum of measure is 180˚

Let the measures of two Angles be ( 7a )˚ and ( 11a )˚

Sum of Supplementary Angles = 180˚

( 7a )˚ + (11a )˚ = 180˚

( 18a )˚ = 180˚

a = 180˚/18

a = 10 ˚

Hence, measure of two Angles are:

( 7a )˚ = ( 7 x 10 )˚ = 70˚

( 11a )˚ = ( 11 x 10 )˚ = 110˚

6.If two complementary Angles are in the ratio 11 : 4  , find the Angles?

(a) 66˚ and 24˚

(b) 71˚ and 19˚

(c) 62˚ and 28˚

Answer

Answer: (a) 66˚ and 24˚

Explanation: Two Angles are said to be Complementary Angles, if the sum of their measure is 90˚.

Let the measures of two Angles be ( 11a )˚ and ( 4a )˚

Sum of Complementary Angles = 90˚

( 11a )˚ + (4a )˚ = 90˚

( 15a )˚ = 90˚

a = 90˚/15

a = 6 ˚

Hence, measure of two Angles are:

( 11a )˚ = ( 11 x 6 )˚ = 66˚

( 4a )˚ = ( 4 x 6 )˚ = 24˚
